At Family Futures, it’s our mission to help all children in our community reach their full potential. We do that by giving parents access to:
Tools that make sure your child is on track physically and emotionally
Positive parenting education that strengthens your skills and resiliency
Connection to resources that can help you overcome any parenting obstacles
Connections
Receive regular, age-appropriate tools and screenings that let you use playtime with your child to know if everything is developing on track. When you enroll in Connections, your child receives a personalized Thrive by Five plan that guides you every step of the way as your child grows.
Healthy Families Kent County
Healthy Families Kent County is a support program available from pregnancy through three years old where families can get personal, in-depth support and introduction to resources. Work one-on-one with a Family Support Specialist who will meet you where you are and show you the steps to achieve your parenting goals.
Children's Safety
Families may receive Pack ‘n Plays with assembly instructions, educational books, and other crucial materials to help families build a safe sleep environment for their child.
Our difference
Developmental screenings
We offer our parents access to the same reliable, accurate screening tools that early childhood educators and pediatricians use. By tracking your child’s physical and social-emotional development, parents can have the peace of mind of knowing what to expect and getting a head start if additional help is needed.
Parent education
Recent research finds that parents and caregivers who strengthen their parenting skills in certain areas can increase the well-being of their children and families. These emerging skills might not have been passed down from generation to generation, so we are making it our mission to share the resources and strategies needed to support you in becoming the parent you know you can be.
Community of resources
There are a lot of family resources and services out there. It can be overwhelming to know what is available and how to get it. Family Futures has been working in this field for decades, mapping out who offers what and making introductions to the parents who would benefit. When you need a little extra support, we do the research so you don’t have to.
